I bought the Dell XT2 first, but sent it back. I couldn’t handle not having the middle scroll button for my trackpoint and an unnecessary touchpad. Feaures on XT2 that I liked: slimer size. I still like the bulkier/rugged Lenovo one because I’m rough on laptops. The XT2 had the capacitive screen (X200 has that now). The XT2 battery is less bulky than on the X200, but I like using the X200 one as a grip. The XT2 stylus was an odd shape (no “eraser”) and storage slot was awkward to reach.

I have the x200. Sadly I bought mine only a few months before the “Enhanced” Multi-Touch (Capacitative) screens were out. My Multi-Touch screen is ok. I mainly use the stylus as the screen gets pretty smeared since you have to press down on it. My computer did come with a cleaning cloth, though. I like the full IBM keyboard and like that there is no touchpad. I do miss the Thinklight and DVD drive, though. (My previous laptop was a T42, not a tablet).

    Really fantastic review!
Any luck on testing the x200 with touchscreen options? There are absolutely zero reviews out there that looks into the multitouch option.

To future viewers, this is my input:
The x61 and the x200 are wonderful tablets. Near the $2000 USD range for a standard configuration, this is the perfect business tablet; rugged, sturdy, and certainly reliable. The HP tx2z has a multitouch N-Trig DuoSense Technology screen, a capacitive screen, and has an active and passive digitizer. The HP 2730p is the more affordable and quicker option, but not as reliable. To consumers, I recommend the tx2z. Otherwise, if price is not an issue, the x200.

    Bonne nouvelle

  8. @sbunbun – no, different batteries altogether.

@getwasted – that would be a Dell Latitude XT being the most expensive, not a Lenovo X200.

    thanks for the review gottabemobile!!!!
im just wondering if the x200 uses the ssame 9 cell battery on the x61 series?

Surely with a price tag of USD 2323, I am NOT going to buy the most expensive tablet on this planet.
